Exciting... Your maternity shoot is just around the corner. And of course, you want to get the most beautiful photos. That's why we've put together a few tips for you! Want to read along?
The location
First, consider what kind of location you want to use in your photos. Is it outdoors, a studio, or your own home, for example? The setting you choose will determine the mood of your photos. You can also coordinate your clothing accordingly.
Choose a photographer that suits you
There are tons of photographers who do maternity shoots. Find a few and check out their previous work. They usually have a good Instagram account too. Consider if the style of previous shoots suits you. You can always contact the photographer to discuss your options and ask any questions. It often helps if you have a few examples of photos you like. This gives them an immediate idea of what you want to achieve with your shoot.
How many weeks out should I schedule the photoshoot?
You want your pregnancy to look beautiful in photos, of course. But you certainly don't want to be late and miss your maternity shoot. Most photographers recommend scheduling your maternity shoot between 30 and 35 weeks. This way, you can clearly see your belly, you're still fit enough, and you won't be late (in most cases)!

Your outfit
I secretly think this is the most important part of the entire photoshoot for most women. You want your figure to look great and your belly to be clearly visible. For example, wear a tight dress or a blouse with a belt just above your belly. You could also consider a theme, like wearing something pink in every photo. Are you taking the photo with your partner or kids? Then you can coordinate your outfits. For example, everyone wears jeans and a white shirt. This creates a nice effect in your photo. Of course, you also have the option of showing or covering your belly. It all depends on what you feel most comfortable with.
Your partner or children
Taking your children along for a photoshoot is perfectly normal! It's also fun to capture spontaneous photos with them. Your partner can also come along and be in the photo with you. For example, your partner can place a hand on your belly to really focus on it.

Schedule a newborn shoot now!
Schedule this already after your maternity shoot. When your little one is just born, a newborn shoot isn't the first thing you think about. You'll be glad you scheduled it!
