What is a doula?

You've probably seen it mentioned often now that you're pregnant: the word "doula." But what exactly is a doula?

A doula is essentially your personal birth coach. Someone who supports you, providing physical, emotional, and mental support. You'll have a doula available 24/7 from the beginning of your pregnancy until your delivery. A doula can provide a safe haven. You can, of course, choose to bring your partner, mother, or friend with you to your delivery. Alternatively, you can choose to have a doula. She can offer additional tips and support.

A doula adapts to the parents' needs, but doesn't provide medical support. Some women seek out a doula as soon as they discover they're pregnant, while others don't until 37 weeks. This is precisely where you'll benefit most!

Who chooses a doula?:

- Women who are very anxious about giving birth.
- Women who want to give birth without pain relief

-Women who have experienced a traumatic birth
-Women who are looking for a familiar face during pregnancy
